Lakewood School District No 306

The Lakewood High School project includes the construction of a brand new 161,000 sq. ft. two story high school, 660 sq. ft. Greenhouse, 672 sq. ft. Ticket Booth, and minor renovations to the school’s existing 10,500 sq. ft. Grandstands and located in Arlington, WA. The existing school will be demolished after the construction is completed on the new school which is projected for the summer of 2017.

Johansen Mechanical holds the prime role for the mechanical system including HVAC, Plumbing, DDC Insulation and Duct Cleaning. During the preconstruction phase of the project JMI’s team contracted and led the MEP CAD Coordination, utilizing 3D Clash Detection and Revit Models to foresee and prevent installation conflicts. Our Foreman, Travis Jamison, keeps a constant presence onsite and manages the day-to-day activities and subcontractor coordination. Derek Holm, our Project Manager attends weekly meetings onsite and keeps in communication with our foreman and Allied on a daily basis. Our Superintendent, Rick Jamison assists Travis with coordination and oversees manpower on the project.

For tracking purposes, JMI broke the project down into phases so we can use the data as we progress as a snapshot of our performance. Our project manager regularly reviews the data with our foreman to reevaluate areas where we can improve upon for the next phase in construction efficiencies and he also reviews the project performance with our accounting department to look for cost effectiveness and budget comparison.
